LILA

Because of my stupid visa I am unable to work here. So, in order to keep myself from going crazy I babysit. Every Friday, Lila (just turned 2), comes over to play. Her mother is American and her father is from India. She understands both English and French, and responds in both languages. Her favorite things to play with are my shoes! Upon arrival my closet is the first place she goes after looking around for her favorite person to hang out with, Chris. Here are a couple of pictures that we managed to get. She knows when we are trying to a picture of her, so she always hides her face and doesn’t smile. Chris’s nickname for her is the Mona Lisa Baby because she always has this half smile that looks like she is hiding something from us.

Cooking in the kitchen. Before she started helping me in the kitchen she went into our bedroom and found my purse and Chris’s slippers and decided to wear them. Then she found Chris’s scriptures and just carried them around. She wouldn’t let me take anything off, so I just let her wear the stuff for a couple of hours.


Cute story about the slippers she is wearing. One day when she was over, Chris was getting dressed in the bedroom. Lila sat outside the bedroom door waiting for him. She noticed earlier that Chris had been wearing his slippers, so she found them in the living room and brought them to the bedroom door. She set them there for Chris and then called for him. When Chris was finished getting dressed and opened the door there was a smiling Lila and his slippers ready to wear.
